Its all over, the Olympics that is

So the Olympics are over, but wasn't it great. I seriously enjoyed all the different sports, from dressage (I am not a horsey man) through to, and including the cycling of course. Was a little surprised how some sports did not cope well, swimming and atheletics did to name two. I am not sure the excuse of home pressure works, we all have pressures in life and as elite atheletes they should be able to cope, and should have the back up team in place as well. Overall though it truely showed the Great in Britain. Why am I mentioning this, well to me the last year has been my personal Olympics, and I think I have the gold medal. The back up team, has been superb! Maybe I also missed my calling. I found an old shot of Team GB (that's Geoffrey Butler Cycles) from the mid 80's, can you tell which one is me?

We're all going on a summer holiday

no more working for a week or two
fun and laughter on our summer holiday
no more worries for me and you, and you, and you etc

Can you tell I am getting in the holiday spirit? When I was first diagnosed I set myself a number of targets to acheive. Seeing my holiday next week and the chairty ride in a few weeks time, means I am almost at the end of that original list. So while in France n holiday, I need to get my thinking cap on. I knwo I want to help Freja learn to drive in December, and a visit to the Tour de France next year on a new motorbike are certainly on the list. but apart from that, erm, that's it for now. If you have any sugestions, let me know.

As to the charity ride, well yesterday I planned a full days riding, with the bike fully loaded, including all the accessories and camping equipment. I got all loaded up, then noticied I had a flat tyre. Picture below is of the bike ready to go, except for the flat!!

Seeing as I will be on holiday in France very soon, I may not post up for a couple of weeks, but be sure to keep checking, just in case! Before I go, big shout to Team GB at the Olympics, well done all!
