All systems go - nearly

Sorry no update for a day or two, yesterday was so busy and also I was having a bit of a downer, but today back to Mr Positive.

So here's the latest news. They still are not sure on the primary cause but are treating it as prostate as thats the only positive result they have, but it is a weak positive. As a result I am having a mix of treatments, some specific, some more broad based, and I think the car will know its own way to Guildford, as it looks like I will be there a lot! I am going back tomorrow, Friday, for a kidney function test. This teatbwill take 4 hours and will see how well my kidneys are working. The better they sre working, the stronger the dose of chemo I can take. They seem to ge working fine for me, so hopefully that is the case. While I am there I will also visit the unit where I will get my chemo, to meet the team and get to known the process. i will also start the hormone treatment while there.

I then go back Monday to start the chemo, I am having 2 different chemo treatments at the same time, one unfortunately takes 12 hours to administer by drip, so the iPad will be put to good use. I may stay in overnight as it takes so long. Then i have to go backnthe following day for an immune system booster injection. The list of side effects is quite long and some seem to counteract each other, so it looks like a fun time.

Aso been looking at aternative supporting theropies, thanks for the help Simon. With the Amazon voucher from work I have bought a juicer, which should arrive this morning. I am reading up on recepies, and expect to start later today. As a confirmed meat eater, moving to a vegan style liquid diet is gonna be hard but I will do anything to give me an edge to beat this. Will gave to give up the ginger beer and move to homemade ginger tea.

Right enough about that stuff, here's what else I have been up to. Well I have been out in the car, I drove to Guildford for the meeting the other day, and am much more mobile now. We also went shopping in Redhill, ok so not much of a highlight I know, but for now its a highlight for me. Never thought seeing all the Chavs down there could make me feel good, but there again it did as there is always someone worse off than yourself. At least I know I have something wrong with me and can't help walking funny, what's their excuse?
