Ola

Well, we are back from sunny Spain, to sunny Britain. For those not in the UK, that is a bit of British humour, as we had a drought annonced a couple of months ago, and since then we have had rain nearly every day, but the drought still goes on! We had a great relaxing time, its amazing how much we did not have to do, and it bought home how much Sarah has done over recent months. We spent most days either driving through the mountains, which were spectacular or lazing in the sun. Well Sarah lay in the sun, I was not allowed to, so had to keep to the shade. Most afternoons I took part in the very agreeabe Spanish custom of a siesta, and very nice it is too.




We ate out at resturants nearly every night, but it was very appararent how quiet Mojacar was, this was definatley a knock on of the current economic climate, not only in Spain but across Europe. We went to some really good resturants, only one did not come up to scratch. If you are ever in Mojacar, try out the Bay Bistro. This is a new resturant, only been open 3 weeks but the chef is a runner up in the UK Michelin Chef of the Year competition, and the food and wine was great, and only a couple of Euros more than the standard fare on offer elsewhere. Praise from me is praise indeed where food is concerned!





One really good thing while we were away was that I finally finished all my tablets, so no more medication for me for a while, however I have been very tired the last couple of days or so, so I hope that is just a combination of coming of the steroids, which I am told will have an effect, and the travel home, as that was a long day for me, with no siesta! I wuld like to say a very big thank you to Ros and Roger for the use of their appartment, and also to Ross and Ali for being taxi to and from the airport, we are both very grateful to you all.

That's the last week dealt with, so what's coming up, well the main focus for me is next Tuesday, 15th May, when I go back to the oncologist, and find out what is next for me. Obviously i am hoping for the best, and all the results seem to suggest that, but I am also prepared for more treatment if need be. Aside from that, I reall need some dry weather, my allotment needs some serious time spent on it, but it is just too wet. We also have a chicken who has decided to go broody, this is good as it means we can get some fertile eggs for her to hatch and be a mummy to. We need some more hens as most of my girls are getting on and no longer lay, and we really like our fresh eggs. So I need to prepare the nursery as "munm" will need the peace and quiet. The picture below is of the type of hens we are expectinmg once they hatch and mature, bit like a ginger chicken afro!

I am also preparing to have a haircut this weekend, I have long thin whispy bits left over from the chemo, but my underlying hair is coming back but needs a tidy up. I just hope I don't end up like the new chickens!!!
