Today is the 12th December, or 12.12.12, or my daughter Freja's 17th birthday. Happy birthday darling and I hope your first driving lesson with JEM Driving http://www.drivejem.co.uk/ or Aunty Emma as we know her, goes well this afternoon.
Monday saw me have round 2 of my chemo, so that's 30% of the way there. They cannot tell if it's working yet until I have my next CT scan at the end of round 3, so towards the end of January, but they are not concerned about anything at the moment. I still have very few side affects, just tiredness, and I think my hair may be starting to go, as I have lost a few strands the last couple of days. At least the forecast is to get warmer though.
Over the last coupe of weeks, I have been busy getting on and enjoying things, Christmas and birthday shopping, going to my allotment and enjoying the outside, and watching Max and Leisha playing football. Leisha has a cup semi final this weekend and I hope to be over the tiredness enough to go, ad they have beaten the top teams to A&E it this far so have a grate chance to make the final.we have also had parents evening at school for both Freja and Anya, and I am so proud of them doing so well, given everything they have to deal with.
Looking forward to Christmas and New Year, this should be a much happier for me, not least as I will be at the end of this round of chemo and should be feeling quite good. Last year was very tough. I plan to cook Christmas dinner as usual, last year was the first time in early 20 years I didn't cook, and I found it very tough, just sitting and being quiet. This year we are having turkey from Holborn's in Nutfield, and and old cut of beef called an H or Aitch cut. Grandad used to say it was the best roasting joint so we are giving it a go. Of course we do our own ham as usual, so I will be busy from Sunday onwards preparing the meal. If anyone is around and wants to call in, please do. My next chemo s scheduled for New Years Eve but this has been moved to 2nd January, so we can celebrate New Year too.
Every few days Sarah posts me a little message on facebook, and one last week really captured our feelings over this whole episode in our lives. It came with a cute picture I can't add here, but the quote is "Don't count the days, make the days count".
Probably wont update again until next week, but be safe everyone
